Additional product information
Crafted from white bamboo in Takayama, the material is harvested in winter, then left to cure for a minimum of one year before being dried to create the finished product. The delicate process of Ajikezuri involves a skilled artisan carefully shaving the tips of each whisk, one by one, using a small knife to gradually thin them, as though gently scraping the bamboo to achieve the perfect form.

Care instructions
- Before using your chasen for the first time, soak it in hot water for 10-15 minutes to unfurl the tips.
- Each time you use it after that, soak the chasen in hot water for 1-2 minutes to soften the tines before whisking.
- After preparing matcha, rinse the chasen with clean water to remove any excess matcha, then dry it in a well-ventilated area.
- Avoid using any detergents, and do not place it in the dishwasher.
- To maintain your chasen's shape and prolong its life, use a kusenaoshi once it’s dry to preserve the tines’ form.
